Community First

Empowering People
Shaping the Future

Community change is built on action, not words. Aaron Roy’s work brings people together through sport, health, equality, and governance — creating opportunities, raising awareness, and ensuring that every voice is valued. What began as a commitment to service has grown into initiatives that continue to strengthen resilience, trust, and inclusion across Hartlepool and beyond.

Sports

Sport is more than competition — it is connection, opportunity, and inclusion. At the heart of community life, it brings people together across backgrounds and creates space for confidence, teamwork, and resilience.

Through initiatives like Mariners United Sporting Club CIC, sport is used as a tool to promote health, tackle isolation, and strengthen cultural ties. Football, kabaddi, and other grassroots activities open doors for all ages to participate and grow.

The vision is simple: sport as a pathway for unity, empowerment, and lasting community progress.

Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)

True progress begins with fairness. Equality, diversity, and inclusion are not ideals but everyday commitments that shape stronger communities. Ensuring that all voices — especially those from underrepresented groups — are heard and valued is central to Aaron Roy’s work.

As BAME Officer for Hartlepool Borough Council, he advocates for representation in decision-making, challenges barriers, and builds spaces where every resident feels respected. By promoting diversity and championing inclusion, the goal is to create a community where opportunity is shared, and dignity belongs to everyone.

Health

Health is the foundation of strong communities. Access to care, well-being services, and support systems ensures that people can thrive in every stage of life. Aaron Roy has consistently worked to champion better healthcare and to make sure local needs shape decisions that affect families and individuals.

As a Public Governor for the NHS Foundation Trust, he represents community voices and advocates for comprehensive services. From improving local access to promoting awareness, the focus remains on building healthier, more resilient communities for today and for the future.

Governance

Strong governance builds trust, accountability, and progress. Communities rely on transparent decision-making and leadership that puts people first. Aaron Roy’s work as Councillor and Vice Chair of key committees at Hartlepool Borough Council reflects a commitment to fairness, responsibility, and public service.

From planning and community-based services to local development, he ensures that policies are guided by integrity and serve the real needs of residents. By strengthening accountability and upholding transparency, governance becomes more than administration — it becomes a tool to safeguard community interests and support long-term growth.
